Matthew 19:26 says, "Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is
impossible, but with God all things are possible.'”
My ancestors and grandparents were mormons. When I was eight years old I was
baptized into the mormon church. In 1975 my family moved to Utah from Colorado.
My brother died in April. We received a phone call from the family home teacher
from Colorado. Because of the circumstance of my brother’s death he said my
brother had gone to hell. I asked why would you call a grieving family and tell
us this, I said please don’t call here again. I never went back to the mormon
church. I was devastated by his statement but I never believed it. Several years
later in the fall of 1995 I had a friend that I would walk with, her name was
Lisette, she started sharing the gospel of Christ Jesus with me. Lisette invited
me to a bible study at her home, I went every week. We would study GOD's Word
and pray together.
In May of 1996 I accepted Christ Jesus as my Lord and Savior and became a born
again Christian. In the fall of 1997 my husband Rick also accepted Christ Jesus
into his life and became a born again Christian also. In October of 1999 Rick
and I and our son Lucas were baptized. A few days before the baptism I found a
booklet from a vacation bible school my brother and I attended in 1971, it was a
statement of faith showing that my brother who died and I had both accepted
Christ into our lives at the age of twelve and ten. Praise God my brother was
saved and is in heaven with Jesus. My life now is blessed beyond anything I
could imagine because of my daily walk with Jesus.
Gods Blessings,
Tammy McDonald
