I am very blessed to have had a relationship with Jesus for almost 10 years
now. While I was growing up I always believed in God, but never understood who
He was, or knew that He was interested in knowing me personally.
I grew up attending the LDS Church, and was baptized when I was 8. Shortly
before High School, God started to do amazing things in my family—I was born
with very poor eyesight, and the doctors told my parents that they expected me
to be blind in at least one eye, and I was wearing glasses from the time I was
18 months old. I’ll never forget the day that I went to the eye doctor at age 14
and he told me that I didn’t need to wear glasses anymore! God had healed my
eyes! Looking back, I can now see that God had healed my eyes so that I could
see the truth in His Word for myself, and I gave my life to Christ shortly
thereafter. God continued working in my family and connected us with solid
teaching at a local church. On Mother’s Day, 1997, my parents and I were
baptized—this time my baptism meant that I was identifying myself as a follower
of the true Jesus of the Bible.
During my college years, God impressed upon me His heart for the people of
all nations, and allowed me to serve Him in Central Asia, Slovenia, and Siberia.
I’m excited that God continues to burden my heart for the nations, and am
excited to be able to serve God with my life.
God is always in the process of shaping me, and my favorite Bible verse has
always been Philippians 1:6, which says “…He who began a good work in you will
be faithful to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.”
