What To Expect at Sandy Ridge PDF Print E-mail

You may be asking yourself what you will encounter if you decide to join us at our worship service. We've designed this page in an attempt to answer some of the more common questions about what you can expect.

Do I Have To Stand Up In Front Of People?

No. Some churches, with good intentions, ask visitors to stand up and introduce themselves in front of everyone. While we applaud their desire to know you better, we at Sandy Ridge do not do that.

Instead, before or after the service you can stick around and meet people at Sandy Ridge. In that way, genuine friendships can begin in brief conversations and over time.

Do I Have To Wake Up Early?

Well, that depends on what is early for you. Our services begin at 11:00 a.m.

Do You Want My Money?

In a word, No.

The people who are a regular part of our community give to help support Sandy Ridge to help pay expenses and advance God’s kingdom in this community and the in the world. We provide them that opportunity to worship God through giving, but we certainly don't expect visitors to give. If you join us at one of our meetings, you are our guest, and we don't ask our guests for their money.

In time, if you decide to become a regular part of our community, you may decide that you would like to participate in worshiping God through giving. At that time, we would joyfully welcome your participation. But our desire for you now is simply that you be given the opportunity to check us out without feeling pressured to give money.

Are You Going To Tell Me What's Wrong With Me?

At its core, the message of Jesus is about good news. He did not come to earth to condemn us, but to save and give us life. So you will find at Sandy Ridge God’s truth being presented. At times it will comfort and encourage you. At other times it will challenge you but that is a good thing because we want to love God and other people better.

Do I Have To Dress Up?

When you join us for our worship service, you will see people dressed formally, but you will see people dressed more casually as well. We believe that is a good thing. Come as you are.

Do You Offer a Kid's Program?

Of course. We present God’s truth to the kids in a way they can understand and yet want to come back again and again. We do this through crafts and music just to name a few. We're confident that your kids would have a great time if they were to participate. At the same time, we certainly understand why you would want to check us out before allowing your kids to participate in our children's program.

Children are dismissed about 15-20 minutes into the worship service, so they can see their parents and others participate in worshiping God and even they can worship God in music if they choose. For toddlers and babies we have people to care for them as soon as the worship service starts.
