What We Believe About Our Youth
We believe that the Church is one generation from extinction. Students are not just the Church of tomorrow; they are the Church of today! They have spiritual gifts for ministering to others and have real acts of love and service to offer to the church and the community.
Our Strategy
To create relational and relevant environment for teenagers that encourage them to take the next step in living and loving more like Jesus.
Why does the Youth Group exist?
Our youth group exists to build God’s kingdom through students, encourages them to connect with other Christians, strengthen their relationship with Jesus, and challenge them to touch the world by being a blessing to the local and global community.
Success
We believe success in youth ministry is students GROWING in their relationship with Jesus. There are 7 mile markers that will help us to determine if we are accomplishing our stated strategy.
Genuine Faith
One has to believe and trust in Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord if one wants to spend forever in God’s presence. But faith in Christ also allows one to live on earth in a daily genuine relationship with a heavenly Father who loves you unconditionally. As an all-knowing, all-loving, all-holy, and all-powerful Father one can trust Him to lead us in the right direction
Respect God and others
God has placed His holy and inspired Word to be respected as our final authority in our beliefs and behavior. He also desires us to show respect to one another by how we treat them as well as our parents, teachers, and leaders that are in our lives which provide guidance and protection. One of the great life-long lessons for anyone is to constantly practice respect and honor to all (friends, family, parents, teachers, and ultimately God revealed through the Bible).
Others First
Scripture teaches that God has created us to do good works and that He has given us unique desires, experiences, gifts, and natural abilities. Students need to discover and gain a better understanding in order to help them serve others by serving God.
Wise Choices
In light of past experience, current responsibilities, and future dreams we need to ask ourselves "What is the wise thing to do?" Good decision making is more than simply choosing between right and wrong. It is the skill of applying Bible truths so that one can make smart and wise choices.
Influential Friendships
Our friends have a huge influence in our lives. Spending time with right kind of friends definitely helps one grow in a positive and healthy direction. Scripture teaches that the “one who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm” and “b ad company corrupts good character." Learn to build healthy friendships and avoid unhealthy friends.
Necessary Boundaries
God has given us boundaries that are necessary in order to protect us from emotional, financial, physical and relational harm. For example, one of the most important things a student can do is to establish specific guidelines for their dating life. One needs to learn how to protect their body and emotions by honoring God’s plan for marriage and morality.
God-centered Priorities
God designed us to have a relationship with Him. Our intimacy with Him will provide the foundation one needs to face whatever life can possibly throw at us. His friendship with us provides the ultimate fulfillment and security as we journey through the valleys and mountaintops of life.
